Ranchi. Only a few days are left for Holi. It is not possible that Dahi-Vada is not made on the day of Holi. But if you are a patient of uric acid, then be careful. This Holi-special dish made from urad dal can prove beneficial for your health. According to the doctor, urad dal works to increase uric acid. On occasions like Holi, many times people knowingly or unknowingly consume such things, which later cause harm. But this carelessness later causes such pain in bones and joints which is difficult to bear.

VK Pandey, a renowned Ayurvedic doctor, BAMS from Vinoba Bhave University and practicing in Ranchi, told Local18 that whole urad dal includes the peel. It contains excessive purine content, which increases uric acid. A large amount of protein is found in it, which is quite harmful for high uric acid patients.

What are the options in Holi?
Dr. VK Pandey said that instead of urad dal, it would be better for uric acid patients to eat curd vada made from green moong on the day of Holi. Actually, the elements that increase uric acid are negligible in green moong. You can consume it easily. Apart from this, you can also eat Dahi-Vada made by mixing jowar or millet. He further said that green gram, jowar and millet are rich in fiber. Many elements like Vitamin A, B, C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Iron, Zinc, Magnesium, Phosphorus are found in them. Besides, it also provides relief from the problem of constipation. That means, even if you eat and drink too much during Holi, Dahi Vada made of these things will work to improve your digestion.
